Everton Park sits around ten kilometres north-west of the CBD, inside the area we cover from Yeerongpilly. The housing stock is mostly 1960s to 1980s brick-and-tile on generous blocks, and it is turning over steadily — bought, extended, subdivided, or fitted with a secondary dwelling.

Every one of those paths runs into the same wall. The original installation was sized for a single-phase supply, a handful of circuits, and no air conditioning. Add an extension, a second kitchen, ducted A/C, solar, and an EV charger, and the existing board is finished — usually with no spare ways and no RCD protection on the original circuits.

The second recurring question here is secondary dwellings. Whether a granny flat is separately metered or fed from the main installation is a decision with cost, compliance, and tenancy consequences, and it is much cheaper to get right at design stage than to unpick afterwards. We work through that with owners before anything is ordered.

Yes, and it's much cheaper than retrofitting. We run conduit to the roof for the DC solar runs, leave a supply way in the board for the inverter, and allow space for a battery and its enclosure. If the installation is three to five years away it still pays to do the groundwork while the walls are open.
